Tongue Tumor Detection in Medical Hyperspectral Images
نویسندگان
چکیده
A hyperspectral imaging system to measure and analyze the reflectance spectra of the human tongue with high spatial resolution is proposed for tongue tumor detection. To achieve fast and accurate performance for detecting tongue tumors, reflectance data were collected using spectral acousto-optic tunable filters and a spectral adapter, and sparse representation was used for the data analysis algorithm. Based on the tumor image database, a recognition rate of 96.5% was achieved. The experimental results show that hyperspectral imaging for tongue tumor diagnosis, together with the spectroscopic classification method provide a new approach for the noninvasive computer-aided diagnosis of tongue tumors.

Improving the RX Anomaly Detection Algorithm for Hyperspectral Images using FFT
Anomaly Detection (AD) has recently become an important application of target detection in hyperspectral images. The Reed-Xialoi (RX) is the most widely used AD algorithm that suffers from “small sample size” problem. The best solution for this problem is to use Dimensionality Reduction (DR) techniques as a pre-processing step for RX detector. Using this method not only improves the detection p...
متن کاملLand Cover Subpixel Change Detection using Hyperspectral Images Based on Spectral Unmixing and Post-processing
The earth is continually being influenced by some actions such as flood, tornado and human artificial activities. This process causes the changes in land cover type. Thus, for optimal management of the use of resources, it is necessary to be aware of these changes. Today’s remote sensing plays key role in geology and environmental monitoring by its high resolution, wide covering and low cost...

Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) is an emerging modality for medical applications and holds great potential for noninvasive early detection of cancer. It has been reported that early cancer detection can improve the survival and quality of life of head and neck cancer patients. In this paper, we explored the possibility of differentiating between premalignant lesions and healthy tongue tissue using ...
متن کاملImpact of linear dimensionality reduction methods on the performance of anomaly detection algorithms in hyperspectral images
Anomaly Detection (AD) has recently become an important application of hyperspectral images analysis. The goal of these algorithms is to find the objects in the image scene which are anomalous in comparison to their surrounding background. One way to improve the performance and runtime of these algorithms is to use Dimensionality Reduction (DR) techniques. This paper evaluates the effect of thr...
متن کاملSeparation Between Anomalous Targets and Background Based on the Decomposition of Reduced Dimension Hyperspectral Image
The application of anomaly detection has been given a special place among the different processings of hyperspectral images. Nowadays, many of the methods only use background information to detect between anomaly pixels and background. Due to noise and the presence of anomaly pixels in the background, the assumption of the specific statistical distribution of the background, as well as the co...
